Famous Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has opened up about why marriage has never been a part of her aspirations, unlike many other young women. In a now viral video circulating on social media, Nancy discussed her personal outlook on life and career during an interview on Creativity Live with Lynda.
She explained that, unlike girls who often view marriage as a means of financial security, she has always focused on working hard and becoming self-sufficient.
“When young girls used to sit down and dream about getting married, I never did. I used to dream of working and making money,” she shared. Nancy went on to emphasize her commitment to her career, saying, “I can spend on myself so much that no one else can take the position of ‘if it’s not me, you won’t have this life.'”
Isime also highlighted her fears surrounding fame, revealing that she is actually intimidated by the limelight despite her successful brand in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The actress’s remarks have sparked conversations online, with many applauding her dedication to self-reliance and hard work.
