A tragic accident along the Abuja-Lokoja highway claimed the lives of two passengers and left eight others injured when an 18-seater commuter bus lost control and crashed into a ditch. The incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 11:12 am near Gada-Buyi.
Witnesses reported that the driver lost control of the bus after one of its tires burst while transporting passengers from the eastern part of Nigeria to Abuja. The vehicle subsequently overturned.

Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from the Abaji unit responded promptly, rescuing the injured passengers and transporting them to Abaji General Hospital for treatment. An FRSC official, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that one passenger died at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The remaining eight victims are currently receiving medical care.
