Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped eight places in the latest FIFA men’s rankings, now ranking 44th globally. The updated rankings were published on FIFA’s official website on Thursday.
This decline also affects Nigeria’s standing in Africa, where the Super Eagles have slipped from fourth to fifth place. Morocco remains the highest-ranked African team, followed by Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt in second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
The Super Eagles’ performance in November contributed to this drop, as they recorded one draw and one loss in their two international matches during the month.
Morocco’s consistent performances, including their standout run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, have helped them maintain their dominance on the African continent.
Nigeria will aim to improve in upcoming matches as they work toward regaining a stronger position both on the continent and globally.
