Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Facilitates Skill Acquisition for Kogi Central Youths

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, has organized an entrepreneurial skill acquisition program for youths in Kogi Central senatorial district. The initiative, held under the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, provided training in solar street light/solar component installation and phone/handset repairs.

The program, which took place at the multipurpose hall of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s residence, trained 60 youths from the five local government areas in the district. At the end of the five-day workshop, participants received certificates, tool kits to support their new skills, and a start-up fund of ₦150,000, along with protective gear.

During the event, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her dedication to providing meaningful democratic dividends to her constituents, focusing on job creation and reducing unemployment. She encouraged the trainees to leverage their skills for self-employment and to represent the district well.

The training team was led by Hon. Edmund Ana Bisong and included experts like Paul Eze, Engr. Miracle Ikechukwu Nwawuru, and Engr. Asuquo Bassey. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also expressed gratitude to the Presidency, the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, her political party, and her team for their support in making the initiative successful.
