Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has once again demonstrated his commitment to education by donating a coaster bus and N5 million to Grimard School of Nursing Science, Anyigba, Kogi State. The donations are aimed at supporting the institution’s accreditation and logistical needs.
During his visit to the college on Tuesday, Obi urged students to prioritize their studies and prepare for future contributions to the global healthcare workforce. This visit fulfilled a promise he made three months ago when he initially donated N10 million to assist with the college’s accreditation efforts and infrastructure improvements.
The additional N5 million is intended to cover the bus’s fuel and other operational needs. Obi emphasized the importance of nursing and allied sciences, highlighting the global demand for healthcare professionals.
Bishop Anthony Adaji, proprietor of the school and Bishop of Idah, expressed profound gratitude, acknowledging Obi’s dedication to education and healthcare. The school’s Provost, Mrs. Usman Obonugwa, also praised Obi for his unwavering support.
Obi reaffirmed his commitment to the institution, stating that Grimard is one of over 22 nursing and midwifery schools benefiting from his annual educational assistance, further cementing his role as a key supporter of Nigeria’s educational and healthcare sectors.
