Following the departure of his wife in December 2021, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, is poised to welcome a new queen into the esteemed Oduduwa Kingdom of Ile Ife.

Sources within the palace reveal that the introduction ceremony for the new Queen, Mariam Anako, an Oil and Gas Executive, has already transpired, adhering to customary practices where the new in-laws convened with the King.

The private ceremony occurred on February 19, 2022, deliberately devoid of grandeur as the monarch preferred discretion over media attention.

This union marks Ooni Adeyeye’s fourth official marriage.

Mariam Anako, employed in NestOil, has purportedly expressed her commitment that Ooni Adeyeye will remain her sole spouse henceforth.

While her roots trace back to the Ebira ethnic group in the central senatorial district of Kogi State, her upbringing was under the guardianship of former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, following the loss of her father at a tender age.

Abubakar, who served as Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, provided a nurturing environment for Mariam, whose mother, now retired, also served in law enforcement.
