The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,850 personnel to ensure a safe and secure celebration of the Yuletide season in Kogi State.

In a statement on Friday, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Aliyu, announced that the deployment was directed by the Kogi State Commandant, Esther Akinlade. Officers were drawn from multiple units, including Operations, Special Rapid Response, Agro Rangers, Female Squad, Intelligence, and the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure departments.
Commandant Akinlade stressed the importance of maintaining law and order in Kogi State, given its strategic location bordering nine other states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). She assured residents that the NSCDC, working with other security agencies, is committed to ensuring a crime-free environment before, during, and after the holiday period.
Akinlade warned youths against engaging in misconduct or unlawful activities, emphasizing that violators would face strict legal consequences. She also encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly and report any criminal activities or suspicious behavior to the authorities to sustain the state’s relative peace.
