Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has assured that he will refrain from meddling in the governance of his successor, Alhaji Usman Ododo.
Bello conveyed this commitment while addressing State House correspondents following a presentation ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, led Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Ododo to present their certificates of return to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In affirming his hands-off stance, Bello stated, “In this administration, I have nobody dictating for me; rather, we follow the law and the rules, and the people are satisfied with me. This is going to be Usman Ododo’s administration, whether good or bad, which I pray is going to be good. He will carry his cross, and I know he will do well.”
Governor Bello urged the citizens of Kogi state to collaborate with the incoming government to ensure that Kogi residents benefit from the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
The Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, presented the newly elected governors and their certificates of return to the party leader, President Tinubu.
Expressing his victory, Ododo emphasized that his mandate is for the people of Kogi State, assuring readiness to serve them. He stated, “Through the campaign processes, we have met our stakeholders. The mandate is for the people, and as such, we are coming to serve the people. We must consult with them. We thank PBAT for the good he has done for the people.”
Ododo also highlighted that the November 11 governorship election in Imo and Kogi states demonstrated the party’s growth. He remarked, “The election in the two states shows that our party has moved from the old dark days to the new world order. Kogi state and Imo people know what is right for them, and they have done what is right for them.”
