Nigerian Police Arrest Woman Smuggling 124 Rounds of Ammunition Hidden in Palm Oil (Photos)

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a woman, Hauwa Sani, for attempting to smuggle 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition hidden inside a gallon of palm oil. The arrest was made by operatives from the Keffi Division, approximately 33 kilometers from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The operation, conducted on Friday, led to the interception of the suspect, a resident of Doro village in Katsina State, who was traveling with a two-year-old child at the time of her arrest. According to Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, the ammunition was concealed in palm oil and was intended to be transported to Katsina State.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Hauwa Sani received the ammunition at Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The police believe she was attempting to smuggle the ammunition back to Katsina State when she was apprehended.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered that the suspect, along with the recovered ammunition, be transferred to the Force Intelligence Department at Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
