The Kogi State Government has allocated over N400 million through the State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) for the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) program. Chief Momoh Dauda, the General Manager of KGCSDA, announced this during a meeting with Desk Officers from various line ministries in Lokoja.
Approved by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the funds are designated for projects under the Social Services Infrastructure of the NG-CARES Program, which are currently in progress across the state’s three Senatorial Districts. These projects span sectors such as water, education, health, and sanitation, tailored to meet the specific needs of each community.
Nineteen communities and one vulnerable group have already received funding, aiming to improve living conditions and access to social services. It’s anticipated that at least 40 microprojects will be completed and operational within the next two months, coinciding with the visit of the World Bank Independent Verification Agent (IVA) to the state.
Chief Momoh assured the Desk Officers of the Agency’s full support and emphasized the positive impact these projects are expected to have on the lives of at least 30,000 individuals.
