The Kogi Central Media Practitioners Association (KOCEMPA) has applauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his efforts to reposition the state’s broadcasting corporation, particularly Kogi Radio, headquartered in Lokoja. During a courtesy visit to the management of the corporation, the Acting President of KOCEMPA, Alhaji Ibrahim-Isa Amoka, commended the governor for taking proactive measures to enhance the broadcasting service.

Amoka expressed appreciation for Governor Ododo’s implementation of the N72,500 minimum wage for Kogi State workers, noting that it would motivate workers to perform better. He also praised the governor for appointing several members of the Association to key government positions. These appointments include Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuff as the first female Director General (DG) of Radio Kogi, Ismaila Isah as Special Adviser on Media, and Ebenezer Adurodija as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information.

Alhaji Amoka urged the state government to continue upgrading the infrastructure of the broadcasting corporation and expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership. In response, the DG of Radio Kogi, Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuff, expressed gratitude for the governor’s support, which she said has significantly improved the corporation’s operations. She highlighted key improvements, including the provision of operational vehicles, the installation of a dedicated power line for 24-hour transmission, solar power upgrades, and the procurement of modern transmitters.
