The Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) has arrested a suspected serial thief, Lamidi Amoto Lucky, in the Ogaminana area of Adavi Local Government Area (LGA).
In a statement released on Friday by the Head of ICT/Media, S.O. Saka, the suspect was apprehended by the Adavi Command of the vigilante service during an early morning operation.

“On January 27, 2025, at approximately 4:00 AM, operatives of the KSVS Adavi Command arrested Lamidi Amoto Lucky in the Inorere Ogaminana area of Adavi LGA. He was found in possession of two Butterfly sewing machines, raising suspicion of theft,” Saka stated.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing the sewing machines from Ihima in Okehi LGA. Further investigations uncovered additional stolen items, including:
- One additional sewing machine
- Itel A60 and Oppo Android phones
- One gasoline-powered grinding engine
- One 3kg gas cylinder
- Three six-yard wrappers
- Two cooking pots
- Two bed sheets
- Several shirts
Saka confirmed that all stolen items were successfully recovered by vigilante operatives.
The suspect and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adavi Division, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Reaffirming the Kogi State Vigilante Service’s commitment to ensuring security, Saka urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies to enhance community safety.
