In a significant development, the Kogi State Government, led by Governor Yahaya Bello, has announced the appointment of individuals to occupy four vacant stools within the state. Governor Bello disclosed these appointments during a State Executive Council meeting held in Lokoja, the state capital.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Bello stated, “After due intervention by the government to resolve the lingering controversies that have characterized the selection process, the government hereby comes up with the following appointments for the new occupants of the respective stools.”
The notable appointments include the designation of the former Ohi of Okengwe, Alh. Ahmed Tijani Anaje, as the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. Alhaji Anaje, a retired officer from the Nigerian Army, succeeds the Late Dr. Ado Ibrahim in this significant role.

Furthermore, Governor Bello announced Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as the Maigari of Lokoja and Alhaji Dauda Isah as the Mayaki of Kupa.
Following the dethronement and relocation of HRH Abdulrazaq Isah Koto to Niger state, Governor Bello appointed Mallam Saidu Akawe Salisu as the new Ohimege Igu of Kotonkarfe, effective immediately.
Additionally, the Governor approved the establishment of the Ohi of Uhuodu stool in Okehi Local Government Area. He outlined that the processes for occupying this stool will commence without delay.
These appointments signify a concerted effort by the Kogi State Government to bring resolution and stability to these traditional leadership positions, ensuring a smooth transition and effective governance in the respective areas.
