The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has expressed his gratitude to Governor Usman Ododo for approving the N72,500 minimum wage and introducing the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme for workers in the state.
Speaking during a management meeting held at the Polytechnic in Lokoja on Wednesday, Professor Usman commended Governor Ododo’s historic decision, noting that Kogi is among the few states in Nigeria to implement such a significant wage increase. The Rector described the governor’s action as a positive example of continuity and consolidation in governance, particularly with respect to workers’ welfare.

He emphasized that the new minimum wage is a welcome development and will have a far-reaching impact on the well-being of workers, including those at Kogi State Polytechnic. The introduction of the Health Insurance Scheme, he added, reflects the administration’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of state employees, especially in the face of current economic challenges.
Professor Usman extended the Polytechnic’s appreciation, on behalf of its management, staff, and students, for the governor’s continuous support. He also applauded the dedication of the workers at Kogi State Polytechnic, urging them to remain steadfast in delivering excellent service.
In his closing remarks, the Rector reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering support for Governor Ododo’s administration, expressing confidence in the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the lives of workers and the people of Kogi State.
