
Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has assured business owners at the GSM Village in Kpata, Lokoja, of the government’s full support in rebuilding the market after it was ravaged by a fire in the early hours of Thursday.
During an on-the-spot assessment of the damage, Governor Ododo expressed deep sympathy for the victims, describing the destruction as a serious setback for those whose livelihoods depend on the bustling technology hub. He promised immediate relief measures and assured the traders that the state government would help them recover and restore their sources of income.

The GSM Village, known for providing jobs and a legitimate income for numerous youths and women in Kogi State, plays a significant role in the state’s economy. Acknowledging its importance, the governor committed to a swift recovery process, with plans to begin rebuilding efforts soon.
The traders and residents of the area expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his prompt visit and reassurance, saying that his support has renewed their determination to rebuild and continue contributing to the local economy.
