Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has authorized the early payment of December 2024 salaries to civil servants and pensioners, aiming to help them prepare for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The announcement was made on Saturday by Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information. Fanwo stated that the payment, released on December 14, reflects the governor’s commitment to the welfare of workers.

“The payment of December salaries on the 14th of December is to enable civil servants plan and enjoy their Christmas and New Year holidays after working so hard throughout the year,” Fanwo said. He emphasized that the early disbursement also allows those intending to travel for the holidays to plan ahead without financial delays.

Fanwo noted that a similar gesture was extended during the Sallah celebrations, ensuring workers could celebrate with their families. “The Kogi State Government has paid the December 2024 salaries today to enable civil servants begin preparations for their holidays in earnest and enjoy the yuletide,” he added.

The statement highlighted the government’s recognition of civil servants’ dedication and contributions to the state’s development. Governor Ododo reiterated his commitment to prioritizing workers’ welfare and ensuring their hard work is rewarded with timely support.

This proactive approach underlines the administration’s focus on enhancing the quality of life for state employees and fostering a culture of gratitude and appreciation.
