Kogi Government Inaugurates Committee for New Minimum Wage Implementation

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has pledged that the state will not lag behind in implementing the new ₦70,000 minimum wage for workers. This commitment was reiterated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, during the inauguration of the minimum wage implementation committee in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Dr. Ayoade charged the committee members with the responsibility of developing the modalities for implementing the new wage structure. She emphasized that the governor is dedicated to improving the welfare of Kogi workers.
The chairman of the committee and Kogi State Head of Service, Mr. Elijah Evineme, assured the public that the committee would fulfill its mandate. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Public Service Joint Negotiating Council, Segun Alemeru, praised Governor Ododo, describing the inauguration of the committee as timely and beneficial for workers in the state.
The committee includes several key government officials, such as the Commissioner of Finance, Asiwaju Idris Asiru; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ozigi Deedat; and the Commissioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo. Other members include the State Accountant General, Hajia Habitat Onumoko; Auditor General, Yakubu Okala; and Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, among others.
The Permanent Secretary for Establishment in the Office of the Head of Service will serve as the secretary of the committee.
