The Kogi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has announced plans to expand health insurance coverage for persons with disabilities through the Bello Care health insurance plan. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial and physical burdens faced by people with disabilities in the state.

He praised the state government’s renewed commitment to support vulnerable groups by expanding the Bello Care programme to include more persons with disabilities.

Dr. Aledare emphasized the state’s dedication to improving the well-being of its disabled population during these challenging times, ensuring they have access to affordable and quality healthcare services.

Mallam Abdulhakeem Isah, Executive Secretary of KOSIDA, expressed gratitude for the state’s efforts and urged KGSHIA to appoint a focal desk officer to facilitate easier access to the agency for persons with disabilities. He also called on the Ministry of Health to consider employing members of the disabled community and to provide further support to improve their quality of life.
