Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has reaffirmed his commitment to implementing transformative policies aimed at revitalizing communities across the state.
Dr. Yunusa Alhassan, Managing Director of the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA), made this announcement on Tuesday during the inauguration of the rehabilitation of community roads in Omala Local Government Area. Alhassan emphasized that the focus on rural infrastructure aligns with the previous administration’s efforts to improve access to essential services and enhance agricultural productivity by better connecting farmers to markets.
The previous administration had made significant strides in health, education, agriculture, and rural road infrastructure, aiming to elevate the quality of life for Kogi residents, particularly in rural areas. Alhassan stated that Governor Ododo’s administration is dedicated to building on this progress, despite financial constraints, with a focus on accelerating rural infrastructure development across Kogi’s three senatorial districts.
He assured the people of Omala that similar projects are underway in other parts of the state and that additional infrastructure projects have been approved, reflecting the administration’s commitment to comprehensive development. The ongoing road projects are expected to create job opportunities for local artisans and laborers, contributing to community transformation.
Alhassan highlighted that Governor Ododo’s administration has overseen the construction and rehabilitation of over 100 kilometers of roads in just eight months, with contracts awarded for an additional 300 kilometers. This ambitious infrastructure push aims to enhance mobility, economic opportunities, and overall state development.
