Ahead of Ondo State’s governorship election on 16 November, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has urged the Ebira community residing in Ondo to throw their support behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Speaking at a rally in the Owo Local Government Area on Saturday, Ododo affirmed that the Ebira people in Ondo are united in their decision to back Aiyedatiwa for continuity in leadership and the preservation of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s legacy.

“We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, are committed to supporting and voting for the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming election,” Ododo declared. “Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you; we believe in your leadership and in the continuity you represent. Since taking over, you have upheld the values and projects set forth by Governor Akeredolu, and we are fully behind you for victory on 16 November.”

In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the Ebira community and commended President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the development of Ondo State. “President Tinubu has consistently supported our progress, and I am thankful to him and to Governor Ododo for his leadership and backing,” Aiyedatiwa said.

Dr. Olayide Adelami, the APC deputy governorship candidate and current Deputy Governor of Ondo State, also expressed his appreciation to Governor Ododo for mobilizing the Ebira community’s support. Adelami praised Ododo’s commitment to his people both in Kogi and in Ondo, describing it as a mark of true leadership. He further pledged that the APC administration would continue to involve non-indigenes in the decision-making processes within Ondo.

The endorsement from the Ebira community adds significant support for Aiyedatiwa in his bid for election against 15 other candidates from various political parties.
