The Federal Government has announced Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on Friday through a statement issued by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim community and urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace and prosperity in Nigeria. He also encouraged all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during the celebrations.
