Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja Offers Free Clubfoot Treatment for Children

Clubfoot, a common birth defect affecting approximately one in every 500-1000 newborns, is characterized by inward-turning heels and toes, giving the appearance of upside-down feet. Early intervention is key for successful correction, leveraging the favorable properties of ligaments, capsules, and tendons in infants.

Recognizing the importance of early treatment, the Straight Child Foundation, in collaboration with MiracleFeet, is offering comprehensive clubfoot treatment free of charge for children aged 0-5 years at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.

The treatment regimen involves 4-8 weeks of weekly castings, followed by tenotomy, and subsequent provision of a brace for ongoing management. This initiative aims to provide accessible care to affected children and ensure favorable outcomes.

Venue: PLASTER ROOM BESIDE ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY, FTH LOKOJA.
Date: Every Thursday
Time: From 9:00 AM
For inquiries, please call: 08145959271 or 08084926685.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, to prioritize pediatric healthcare and address the needs of children with clubfoot in Kogi and surrounding areas.
