Dangote Refinery has officially announced its petrol prices, stating it sells at ₦960 per litre for ships and ₦990 per litre for trucks. This clarification comes after the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) claimed they could import fuel at lower costs.
In response, Dangote Refinery, through its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, emphasized that only substandard products could be imported at cheaper rates. The refinery adheres to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) pricing benchmarks, offering slightly lower prices for ship purchases.
The statement also highlighted concerns about low-quality imported fuel, questioning the regulatory body’s capacity to detect substandard products and warning of health and vehicle maintenance risks associated with lower-grade petrol. The refinery reinforced its competitive pricing, aiming to provide high-quality products within NNPCL’s guidelines.
