The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024—Second Series, will commence on Friday, October 25, and run until Friday, December 20, 2024.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, WAEC explained that the examination would be delivered in a hybrid mode. This means that objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen, and candidates will submit their answers electronically. For essay and practical questions, candidates will view them on-screen but will provide their answers using traditional paper answer booklets.
Additionally, candidates who prefer the traditional paper-and-pen mode for the entire examination can opt for that format.
WAEC also extended the registration deadline for the exam to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, to accommodate more candidates. The “Walk-in-Candidate” option, which allows candidates to register 24 hours before a particular paper, will be available once regular registration closes.
The final timetable for the examination is now available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website. WAEC encouraged candidates to make use of its learning resources, including the e-Study platform, WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and the WAECKonnect platform for peer interaction.
The Council wished all candidates success and reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology to enhance its services for all stakeholders.
