President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have condemned the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, which occurred on Sunday at his golf facility in Florida. The attempted shooting, which is under investigation by federal law enforcement, took place as Trump continues his campaign for a second term in the upcoming presidential election.

President Biden expressed relief that Trump was unharmed and praised the efforts of the Secret Service and law enforcement. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Biden wrote, “There is no place for political violence or any violence ever in our country,” adding that he has directed his team to ensure the Secret Service has every resource necessary to protect the former president.

Vice President Harris echoed Biden’s sentiments, also sharing her relief that Trump was safe. She condemned the violence, writing on her X handle, “Violence has no place in America.”

This incident marks the second assassination attempt on Trump since he declared his intention to run for the presidency again. A suspect is currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the attack.
