Out of the total applicants, 358,900 successfully qualified for the next phase, which involves physical assessments, credential verification, medical examinations, and rigorous background checks. Unfortunately, 84,606 applicants were rejected for surpassing the age limit, as the criteria specify an age range of 18 to 25 years.
Kaduna State maintained its lead with the highest number of applicants at 40,272, while Anambra remained in the last position with only 1,664 applicants.
Adamawa State secured the second position with 36,398 applications, followed by Borno State with 32,048, and Benue State with 31,122. Katsina, Bauchi, and Kano states also featured prominently in the top ranks.
Chairman of the PSC, Dr. Solomon Arase (IGP Rtd), expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming response from Nigerian youths, noting that their keen interest bodes well for the transformation of the police force.
He specifically urged the South-East youths to overcome their indifference to police work, emphasizing that engaging with criminal gangs is not a viable alternative. Dr. Arase highlighted the importance of regional development, stressing that terror-ravaged communities impede progress.
He assured that the Commission would adhere strictly to defined criteria, ensuring merit and justice throughout the recruitment processes. The update reflects the dedication of Nigerian youths in contributing to the creation of a more capable and efficient police force.
