The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba, Prof. Kehinde Eniola, has announced that 101 students of the university have benefited from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), an initiative under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He made the announcement during a press conference held at the university’s campus, marking the end of its first academic session for the 2023/2024 calendar year.
Prof. Eniola revealed that the tuition fees of the 101 students had been fully covered by NELFUND, with payments made directly into the university’s account. He also provided an update on the university’s recent developments, including the admission of 1,200 students for the 2023/2024 academic year, following a rigorous selection process in December 2023. Academic activities officially commenced on January 16, 2024.
The VC expressed gratitude to the former governor of Kogi State for establishing the university and to the current governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued support and funding, which has driven the institution’s rapid growth. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Okun Development Association (ODA) in North America, which donated 400 classroom chairs to the university. Special recognition was given to Pa Samuel for his generous donation of 100 palm seedlings, vintage furniture, and assorted stationery.
